Leadership Development

One Sumter has continued to support its Leadership Development priorities by providing a scholarship to an alumni member of South Georgia LEADS to participate in the SGL 2.0 experience which focused on solutions for the region.  In January 2023, One Sumter served as a session sponsor, which brought 40 people to visit Sumter County and learn about the local community’s committed efforts to housing and neighborhood redevelopment. One Sumter also awarded funding to the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce to support their Chamber Champions program.

In June of 2023, One Sumter partnered with Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute in conducting surveys and in-person interviews with various local community leaders and entrepreneurs. This assessment of our entrepreneurial ecosystem will help guide Sumter County in developing a better understanding of our current needs, as well as strengths, in an effort to continue promoting local industry growth, talent retention, and overall regional sustainability.
